Mr. Horner’s diverse professional assignments include technical evaluations of investment clients’ environmental and social management systems to determine parity with IFC Performance Standard 1, Assessment and Management of Environmental and Social Risks and Impacts; audit of an E&S management system for a multinational trading company operating in 174 countries from seed to shelf; assessment of conformity with the IFC Performance Standards for investment projects in Ecuador, Ethiopia, and Mexico; IFC Performance Standards training for Commercial Banking Officers of a large, multinational Equator Bank in Paris, London, Geneva, and Brussels; pre-investment appraisal of forest products manufacturing companies in Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala, and Uruguay for DEG, FMO and Proparco; clean production and wastewater management engineering for a export-oriented agribusiness company in Peru; design of an E&S Risk Management system for the Millennium Challenge Corporation; occupational health and safety management and occupational illness assessment for sugar growing and milling operations in Nicaragua; preparation of public disclosure documents for an Equator Bank investment in a domestic and farm animal feed milling and marketing company in Mexico; review of an environmental assessment prepared for an Equator Bank investment in Central America; and, review of wastewater management for a portfolio of oil palm farming and crude palm oil (CPO) mills in Papua, New Guinea, and funded by the IBRD.
