As senior pig production economist at Wageningen Economic Research I have 30 years’ experience in economic issues on farm and sector level, as well as in supply chain cooperation and international studies. I have a wide network in the industry in the Netherlands and worldwide. I'm an active member of InterPIG, member of agri benchmark Pigs, associated member of the European Pig Producers, and member of Dutch Council of Experts for sustainable husbandry systems. Currently I am involved in projects in South Korea, aiming to improve performance and efficiency of pig farm management. Further I am involved in the European SusPigSys project, aiming to derive integrated sustainable pig farming systems. I'm advising companies, farmers, and governments.Wageningen Economic Research is part of Wageningen University & Research, a combination of the Wageningen University and a group of Research institutes.
