Hello,I am a ceramic artist who is based in the Southside of Glasgow. My interested in the area is developing and creating my own glazes and using wild clay as a form of decoration on my work. I have been lucky enough to travel out towards Canada and Europe to learn and develop as an artist. Most recently 3 months during the summer of 2022 to work with Maria De Haan, helping her manager her studio space and learn to improve the technique towards throwing larger objects and teaching styles. Now back in Scotland, I am always creating new work and developing as an artist. Regularly traveling around Scotland and the UK for events and markets to showcase my work (Up and coming event, Potfest in Scotland, 2023).Along side my own ceramics, I also manage and teach at a community ceramics studio in Govanhill. My role is to manage the studio with the day to day jobs of keeping the studio organised, clean and prepared in all manners. I am also the only throwing teaching so my position allows me to create the throwing lessons we offer, from introduction classes to improvers. with this, I teaching around 3 classes a week at the moment. Other studio management jobs I do consist of maintaining material levels, memberships and kiln firings (Loading and unloading the kiln). We offer kiln hire too so managing the timetable between memberships firings and the kiln hires. I have around a good 5 years of teaching people who to throw experience, may that be between my own studio in Ayrshire, working with Maria in Mallorca (twice, 2017 and 2022) and now more regularly at Govanhill Baths Ceramics. I feel confident in the experience I have to help anyone from beginners to people looking for advice.
