Robert is a Senior Construction Risk Engineer responsible for managing the Integra construction risk portfolio for heavy civils and building projects on behalf of the insured, insurer or broker.

Robert led the UK Construction and Power Risk Engineering Team whose roles and responsibilities included:• Leading and managing a team of eight risk engineers • Managed a $2.75M risk engineering portfolio• Resource management including the establishment of a sustainable risk engineering team. • Profit and loss account management including budget control, growth forecasting and leading business development

Robert was a Senior Construction Risk Engineer undertaking technical risk assessments of a variety of construction projects involving the following policy types: CAR / EAR / CECRKey responsibilities within this role include:• Performing a technical pre-bind assessments for both internal and external underwriters / brokers.• Undertaking on-site technical risk engineering surveys throughout the construction life-cycle. • Managing the worldwide risk engineering programme including reviewing all third party technical survey reports. • Analysing loss data and trends to produce technical risk insights and best practice guidance for internal and external distribution.Project experience includes:• Bridges: Precast pre/post-tensioned concrete bridges, steel and concrete composite, steel arch and cable stayed. • Civil Infrastructure: Tunnels (bored / cut & cover / immersible tubes), underground structures (i.e. stations / shafts), large retaining walls, ports and various ground improvement works.• Highways: Widening of existing roads, new motorways including embankments, cuts, pavement installation and utilities. • Heavy industries: Hydro-power plants, smelters, mines and pipelines. • Buildings: Commercial and residential buildings including airports, data centres and above ground metro stations.

I was a chartered (MICE) senior structural engineer based in the infrastructure department in London. My experience involved working on a variety of major infrastructure projects that included High Speed 2 (HS2), London 2012 Olympics, Northern Line Extension, Stratford City Development, Riyadh Metro and Cityringen - Sydhavnen. My responsibilities included leading projects at various stages of the construction life cycle; from concept through to construction. I have led teams in the structural design of a variety of structures that including underground station structures, cut and cover structures, retaining walls and above ground buildings. Whilst leading these teams, I have worked closely with and managed various different design disciplines such as geotchnics, civils, rail, architecture etc.I have good experience of working with clients and third parties such as the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), HS2 Ltd, River Canal Trust, Network Rail and Environment Agency.
