ROBERT J. FRANKSDIRECTOR OF CORPORATE SECURITYTIME INC. Mr. Robert J. Franks currently serves as the Director of Corporate Security for Time Inc., a division of TimeWarner. Mr. Franks is responsible for managing the Time Inc. crisis management, special events, executive protection, investigative, threat assessment and facility security/fire safety programs. In this capacity, he supervises a deputy security director, a senior security manager, two junior managers, a guard force manager, a security technician, an office manager, a 24-hour security operations center and a contract guard force of over 50 officers. Mr. Franks has been with Time Inc. since August of 2002. Prior to joining the private sector Mr. Franks served with the U.S. Department of States’ Diplomatic Security Service. A 26-year veteran of the State Department, Mr. Franks served his nation in numerous overseas and domestic assignments. Mr. Franks’ last government assignment was that of Director of International Operations inWashington, D.C. In this position, he was responsible for the security of over 350 U.S. embassies and consulates and supervised more than 400 Diplomatic Security Service special agents. Before that, Mr. Franks was the Director of Protection and along with his staff of 125 agents was responsible for the protection of the Secretary of State, foreign dignitaries visiting the United States and all foreign embassies and consulates located in the United States.Specialties: - Special event security planning; Olympic Games, Superbowl, executive conferences- Investigations; threats to senior executive, writers and editors.
