Rob is a UK-qualified trauma and orthopaedic surgeon with extensive experience working in hand, wrist and trauma surgery. He has received funding for and completed several international fellowships, through the British Society for Surgery of the Hand and the Zimmer/British Orthopaedic Association Travelling Fellowship. Most recently he has served as a consultant (locum) at the Royal London Hospital, part of the Barts Health Network, and a major trauma centre in the UK. Rob holds dual fellowship training in orthopaedic and plastic hand surgery and demonstrates high proficiency in the surgical management of all bone and soft tissue conditions of the hand, wrist and forearm. Clinical ResearchRob is also an avid contributor to clinical research, having completed both a PhD and MRes. His PhD took place at Imperial College London, in one of the UK's leading centres for tissue engineering research, where he investigated the production of bio-inspired 3D cellular implants for skeletal tissue engineering applications, designing a novel bioprocessing protocol and platform for future patient specific bone graft production in skeletal tissue engineering applications. His MRes degree was based at University College Hospital and focused on radiological features of femoroacetabular impingement in patients undergoing total hip replacement and hip resurfacing. TeachingRob has served as Teaching Programme Lead at the Royal London Hospital Hand Unit since June 2022. He has also served as Senior Teaching Faculty on London Training in Hand and Wrist Surgery, and as a Lecturer on Surgical Anatomy courses. Awards/FellowshipsThroughout his career, Rob has been the recipient of several awards, bursaries and fellowships, published over 40 research articles in international peer-reviewed journals, written 3 book chapters, led regional quality and service improvement audits, and has been an invited speaker at many globally recognised conferences, receiving significant recognition for his contributions across research and clinical practice during his career.
