Responsible for the successful leadership and management of the Apprenticeship and Education Trusts according to the strategic direction set by the Trustees. Key duties and responsibilities include:-Ensure that the operation of the organization meets the needs and expectations of the Trustees, Industrial stakeholders and the Members of Lodge 146.-Developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization-Foster effective team work within the Apprenticeship and Education Departments-Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the organization-Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the organization's programs and services-Determine staffing requirements for organizational management and program delivery-Recruit, interview and select staff that have the right technical and personal abilities to help further the organization's mission-Work with staff and the Trustees to prepare a comprehensive budget and to secure adequate funding for the operation of the Education and Apprenticeship funds-Administer the funds of the organization according to the approved budget and monitor the monthly cash flow of the organization-Approve expenditures within the authority delegated by the Trustees-Provide the Trustees with comprehensive, regular reports on the revenues and expenditure of the organization-Establish a healthy working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, training institutes, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the training trust funds

The Boilermaker Apprentice Administrator works towards providing the highest quality apprentices to our Boilermaker stakeholders. Apprentice recruitment, selection, coaching and discipline is a part of the daily activities. Seeking innovative approaches to engage apprentices, journey-people and industry to ensure continued Agency and Trust success. To promote and enable the skills development of apprentices in all construction, maintenance and repair projects within the Brotherhood jurisdiction in Alberta. -Involved in recruitment activities inside and outside the organization-Participate in selection and screening processes-Coordinate training and support the organization-Work with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry training on items relating to apprentices and technical training-Track man-hour projections and manpower requirements to adequately recruit and indenture apprentices-Indenture appropriate apprentices-Review approved permit apprentices for membership-Adhere to the policies and procedures of the Boilermaker Administration Agency and Education trusts-Administer the apprentice rules and regulations-Participate in apprentice dispatch and dispatching when required-Continue with professional development to learn about "best practices" and communicate emerging trends-Mentor, coach and instruct as required-Represent the Boilermaker Industry at trade shows and selected provincial committees with a mandate to improve Boilermaker profile and competencies-Liaise with selected owner/client representatives to establish cooperative working relationships-Volunteer at union events, attend union meetings and special called meetings
