When I started with this company I was the first internal IT person they had. Previously they had used external contractors. There were no design details available. These I collated and recorded, also provided a list of threats and risks for the managers conference. Rolled out two new sites using existing infrastructure.Designed a new WAN (all sites were running stand alone) using IPSEC tunnels between new firewalls, including upgrades from SBS 2003 with a central exchange server. A project plan was put in place for this upgrade. Employed a new IT Support Officer. Build a new enterprise domain using Windows 2008. Replaced all Windows SBS 2003 with Server 2008 joining the new domain. Produced documentation for complete WAN build, servers, firewall configuration, Group Policy etc.

Create a team environment allowing all sections to comment, act and respond to any situation. Change VPN authentication from token to Swivel for approx 185 users. Change Citrix environment from a mandatory profile to a roaming profile, packaging updates via Citrix Installation Manager & batch files. Part of a project team to move all outsourced applications in-house, training in IBM Power6 Systems and SAP administration. Build several servers to replace outsourced units. Set up a different subnet for all Citrix servers allowing virtual ip address, resolving major integration problem. Roll out Voice over IP telephony solution to 5 sites. Virtualize the server room using VMWare in a cluster. Design plan and build the environment and virtualize 31 servers. Replace mail and spam filters with Iron Port device. Replace OpenBSD firewall with a dedicated Juniper device. Set up IPSEC tunnels to 8 sites. Complete Citrix Presentation Server 4 roll out to over 280 users, 22 sites. Network infrastructure upgrade to 18 sites through Victoria and Tasmania. Make Business plans for future development and improvements to the infrastructure.
