I took on the role of turning around one of their portfolio companies. It was a success, so I was asked to return to Fidelity's investment management division (FMR) to revamp an internal Fund Research unit tied to their mutual fund investment group. In this role, I worked directly with Portfolio Managers, Research Directors and Sr Executives in the investment team - including the future CEO of the company.I became known for excellent communication skills via frequent internal and external strategy presentations which led me to the Global Asset Allocation group. I became an Institutional Portfolio Manager responsible for a suite of retirement funds and met with upwards of 100 institutional clients, advisors and consultants per year.Next, I took over a private equity company owned by a boutique PE/consulting shop. As the CEO, I executed a turnaround and exit in a fairly short period of time.In that CEO role, a client (Thomson Reuters) asked me to run a mutual fund analytics shop they acquired called Lipper. As the Global Head of Research, I managed to secure the first capital investment from the parent company in many years that helped turn the company back to growing revenues and profits. After being acquired by LSEG, I was promoted to Global Head of Investment and Wealth overseeing the many research efforts under the LSEG.My latest project was helping build a financial, AI-enabled chatbot. I worked directly with members of Microsoft & OpenAI overseeing prompt training on this engine leveraging research content composed by myself & my team that was fed into the ChatGPT v3.5 and v4.0 foundational models.Key Skills: general management, speaking/presenting and communicating complex investment concepts, research and economics, portfolio construction & fund selection.Available for roles in the greater Boston or Northeast region -will relocate for the right opportunity.
