As the principal for storage and backup platform engineering at Rogers, I am responsible for effective development, provisioning, and installation/configuration build activity. Build activity encompasses project delivered, and uplift for currency related activity. I am also responsible for providing L3 technical guidance during incidents affecting critical/vital systems.- Provide technical support in planning and build within the areas of SAN, NAS and backup administration- Plan and deploy new systems and document the implementation.- Develop operational roadmaps for software, firmware and hardware currency.- Collaborate with other team members on IT/Operations initiatives, including data centre, network engineering and operations, backup and disaster recovery efforts and strategies- Lead the creation of functional and technical specifications documentation for projects- Ensuring operational readiness for project exits and handoff- Maintain and evolve the Disaster Recovery Planning, Testing and Response for the Enterprise- Keep up to date with best practices and recommend new solutions or process improvement opportunities leveraging existing platform features and functionality or proposing new products or platforms- Create RFPs, review responses and participate in vendor selection process- Provide L3 technical support for storage platforms. I was responsible for architecting storage solutions for two of Canada's largest financial institutions as well as positioning new product feature functionality through the use of presentations and pre-GA Early Ship Programs. I introduced both accounts to storage virtualization and grew that business from zero to over 15PB of combined virtualization software licence and hardware.

As the Senior IT Specialist, I was responsible planning and coordinating the activities of approximately 15 service personnel across the country in support of the hardware at one of Canada's largest financial institutions. The hardware included the mainframe processors, storage and FICON directors as well as the open systems disk storage. The duties included monitoring microcode level currency, problem management, installation/discontinuance, GDPS/XRC/PPRC/HM and DR readiness as well as planning and coordinating pre-GA Early Ship Programs.

Responsible for planning and executing all hardware service activities at the production data center for one of Canada's largest financial institutions. The product coverage included IBM z, IBM 3494 Tape Libraries, IBM enterprise storage, Brocade Open System and FICON SAN directors.As the lead account SSR, I provided first and second level support for 3494/3590 tape library installations at one of Canada's largest financial institutions. I was also responsible for service and installation planning for several mainframe hardware refreshes nationally.

I was assigned to several of Canada's largest accounts to work with IBM large system hardware. My duties includes, planning and site preparation for the installation of mainframe processors, storage and switching hardware as well as performing PD/PSI and problem management in those environments. I also worked with IBM development teams to create IBM's cheque imaging process using character recognition on cheques processed by IBM 3890s.I was assigned to the Central Toronto service territory and assumed the ownership for all IBM Large Systems hardware at several downtown accounts.
