As the Chairman of BG&E, I’m enthusiastic about the problems that we solve for clients, the opportunities that we provide for our people and the culture that we nurture in the business. I’ve spent 45 years in the engineering profession, which began in the public sector before moving to BG&E. My time at BG&E has been has been rewarding, as I progressed from a technical role into management. As a Director and later Executive Chairman of BG&E, I participated in and presided over expansion of the firm – increasing staff from 20 to 350, spread across Australia and then into the Middle East. Working in collaboration with my colleagues and clients, growth continued as we successfully delivered various hallmark projects in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha. In recognition of our success, BG&E was awarded the Consult Australia, Medium Size Firm in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016. My design expertise encompasses commercial and high-rise structures, public buildings such as hospitals and education facilities, infrastructure projects including energy and public transport amenities, and civil engineering for road, rail and bridge projects. In addition to the technical delivery of the projects, I championed a team approach for design, with a particular emphasis on materials and buildability.Today, BG&E stands tall a leading provider of technical excellence, employing more than 600 people and operating in Australia, the Middle East, the United Kingdom and Europe, Southeast Asia and New Zealand.I’m passionate about helping the next generation of leaders at BG&E and have served as a mentor to many engineers during my career.I am committed to improving humanity and the societies that we live in, and I happily lead BG&E’s programmes with communities and philanthropic activities.
