Robert was was of the founding managers of the Puma Energy group, whilst working for Trafigura; one of the world's largest commodity trading houses.Robert held a variety of senior management positions throughout a 16 year career in the Trafigura and Puma Energy group, including Head of Strategy and Investments and co-Head of M&A, working extensively across Africa, Latin America and Asia Pacific.Robert was responsible for the strategy and investment activity of Puma Energy from 2005 to 2013, during which time Puma Energy grew to become one of the world's largest indepedent downstream oil companies, operating in over 50 countries with a turnover in excess of US$20bn per year.In his last role, Robert was Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for the group's activity in the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions.Throughout his career, Robert was a global Executive Committee member, and held various Directorships within the Trafigura and Puma Energy groups at Group and operating subsidiary levels.

Robert joined Arthur Andersen's graduate recruit scheme, starting work within the Audit & Assurance practice, before take up roles within their private equity transaction support and management consulting divisions.When Deliotte & Touche acquired Arthur Andersen's UK practice, Robert transitioned to Deloitte and Touche UK where he worked for one year before joining Trafigura.

Solomon Islands

Followiong university, Robert joined the Commonwealth Development Corporate (CDC), as it was then known, to work as an Assistant Manager in one of their operating subsidiaries; a sustainable forestry plantation on the island of Kolombangara in the Western Solomons.
