Computer interest caught me rather late in life, considering... In 1969 our HS had a "primative computer" on loan, and we were invited to use it. I was perhaps one of the few. It used perforated cards; you could do rudimentary programing by also filling out cards with #2 pencil. I loved it!I did poorly in algebra however and my computer privileges were revoked. I took that hard as my skills with the computer to me out-weighed algebra. I didn't look at another computer until around 1998 - ignored the Apple computers, though they were all around me. But then I got hooked - in 1998.I am self-educated with the help of a gentleman who assisted home-users in the Yellow pages. When I "broke something", I called him and he patiently (think 16MHz CPU and 60 megs of hard drive; 2 megs of RAM.) fixed things and taught me how to also.Soon, like two - three years I felt confident there was nothing I couldn't fix, and for the most part I was right.I advertised my services in the news-papers... mostly to train people and if tech work was called on I would do it - insurance reasons.I am an artist and a journalist by heart with skills involving computers, auto-tech, proofing, and more...
