Development and support of computer systems for on-air graphics creation and playout, including weather presentation, financial data and systems to meet specific Sky News production requirements such as Elections (General & Local) and Budget Specials. Many of these systems are still in use by producers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in the newsroom.The work required me to be closely involved with the production process, and to liaise constantly with technical and production staff, both prior to transmission and throughout the broadcasts in order to implement evolving ideas quickly and effectively.

Support Work:Installation, configuration and maintenance of a wide variety of PC and networking equipment. Attending user support calls.Development Projects:Analysis, design and build of stand-alone software, as well as work maintaining and updating the Board's large-scale exam processing systems. I taught myself the Visual Basic programming language to a professional level.
