Today, technology is a cornerstone of our lives - for better or for worse. Since 2018, it has been my mission to be the "for better" side of that issue. Primarily I work in the audio-video integration sector, including CAD design, digital signage, AV systems integration, custom AV solutions, project documentation, and personnel management.Prior to my enrollment at UCF I worked in electrical service as a technician. I was exposed to large projects and the struggles of management, as well as learning the "hard" skills such as tools of the trade and basics of electrical code. In 2018 I was hired by Crunchy Tech as an intern and took my first real strides in engineering. My duties were 3D modeling, 3D rendering, 3D printing, and various field engineering tasks.In 2020 I graduated from UCF with my BS in Mechanical Engineering. My intern role as a design engineer became full-time. Shortly thereafter, and due to us having a rather small team, I was promoted to Lead Design Engineer after my predecessor's abrupt resignation. Since then, I have grown the department substantially, and it is my mission to deliver efficiency, accuracy and clarity as a department manager.The nature of my work today is diverse; many of my successes are customer-facing, but many noteworthy contributions are internal processes and documentation. Such endeavors were so successful in fact, that they were extended company-wide from sales & marketing to customer support.Some favorite examples of my work are the Tom's Watch Bar locations. These are massive sports bars with the slogan "All the sports, all the time." You can pick any one of these locations at random and find a system with 100+ displays, world-class audio, discrete system control, and 24-hour customer support. All of which is possible thanks the work of me and my team. For projects like these, my team works in tandem with other vendors to meet goals & deadlines, and bring the projects to fruition. Today, our client generates millions in revenue thanks to our work.While my day-to-day is mainly managerial, I occasionally do design work, which I enjoy. One project I'm very proud of is Padzilla which I inherited in mid 2020. Immediately I was tasked with overhauling it. Significant design changes necessary, and support/documentation for previous generations of the product were nonexistent. My contributions significantly improved the product, including everything from shop drawings for metalwork, to internal documentation for the sales, marketing and support teams, to external documentation like renders and technical specs.
