Roads, bridges, renewables, energy, structures, retail refurb/new build, land fill, flood prevention. UK wide (Scotland, NI, Wales and England) parent company based in Ireland and a UK company - joined them in 2011. At present holding our own. Company grown 5-10 fold since joining - looking healthier year on year.

Met some great people, learnt from them and will be for ever greatful. Upgraded to Supervising / Managing Projects. - LUL & NWR - CIVIL`s Works. - Stations, Platforms, Control Buildings, Signals, Concrete Frames, Schools, Colleges, MOD Structures.Did my NEBOSH (My Pal wanted out of the SHEQ job) got his job as SHEQ Advisor, that evolved into the Rail Safety Case Manager, attained an Assurance Case enabling direct work for NWR/LUL. Scanmoor Group went bust in 2007. Joined Joe Darcy at Archer Hoblin Ltd 2007, J D was setting up a Civil Engineering division. Appointed SHEQ Advisor - Archer Hoblin Group (Basement development, re-furb and social housing, concrete frames / fit out - London area). AHCE division attained ISO 9001 status within 6 months. Buisness declined in late 2008/9 - Internal Politics, usual BS. The chaps I had joined with were departing and so did I. Joined PMC Soil Solutions in 2009 for a 1 off job for Skanska -Daggenham Dock for TFL - (Small Project Award Winner). From there joined HSE, (4 online assessments / 2 days of interviews ) Appointed IOC - Edinburgh - May 2009 - 2 year FTC - Government changed, contract ended after 2 yrs - HSE 30% cuts - last in, first out. Thereafter joined NRS Group Dec 2011. CPD - SNVQ Level 5 Construction Management 2013.Did FFT training with HSE in Dec 2017 - now do in house FFT for RPE users.Did Top Set Incident Training in April 2019 Show less

They interviewed 850 people for 26 places nationwide. 4 online assessments and 2 days of interviews (doddle)Day one: Upon introduction to the HSE we were told by the Union Rep that we were not wanted by existing rank and file Inspectors, a warm welcome that was, all 26 appointees declined membership of their union. Odd that?Not what I expected and not what I was lead to believe at interview. Hated the fact that we were paid as much as existing inspectors. No regard for the previous experience we brought to the mix. Wasted oppurtunity really. I recall a particularly insiped weasel asking me what I knew about scaffold, I had forgot more than he knew was my reply. I was dissapointed and concerned by the overall lack of specific construction knowledge displayed. I was awarded a pay rise? I did not self appriase ( what`s that all about, bumming your own arse off) as was the norm, I was put forward unkowingly for the pay award by my PI, so I owe him many thanks.
