  Retired in 2021, Bob was for a number of years a Partner at Cope Linder Architects in Philadelphia. Following that firm's merger in 2017 with NELSON Worldwide, LLC, Bob continued to serve as a Director and Sr Architect at NELSON's Philadelphia HQ office. Bob also served on the board of directors of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects from 2001 through 2008. In 2007 Bob served as Chapter President, during which time the Chapter completed its purchase of and relocation to the Center for Architecture at 1218 Arch Street. Bob also served as a founding board member and President of the Center for Architecture and Design. Over the span of his professional career, Bob's work focused on commercial and urban mixed-use design and master planning. Bob earned his undergraduate degree in Architecture at Carnegie-Mellon University (1975), and his Master’s degrees in Architecture and City Planning at the University of Pennsylvania (1981). Bob held professional licenses in seven states, has been an active member of the Urban Land Institute, a founding member of the Institute for Urban Design, a member of the Central Philadelphia Development Corporation and has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Friends Select School.
