Part of the procurement team for the R&D department. This involved coordinating and communicating across departments to ensure constant supply of materials, and accurate sourcing for specialty items.• Developed a tracking method in order to get a dollar value for the commercial transportation costs for Alnylams new gene therapeutic drug. • Contributed to creating a new Alnylam Entity in Brazil. Communicated and coordinated with Management Consulting Firms in Brazil in order to schedule informational visits for Alnylam employees.• Designed a preliminary purchase order workflow process for the new entity in Brazil• Learned to problem solve business issues in a variety of ways with the aim to always keep business operations functioning without delay.• Cultivated an intimate understanding of GEP and SAP business operations software. • Interacted with R&D scientists, lawyers, accountants, and finance personnel on a local and international level, assisting with a variety of work, from standard purchasing to tactical vendor negotiations. • Assisted in designing a new vendor banking database system that ensured banking security and quicker vendor processing (updating information or adding new vendors within a maximum of 24 hours)
