Graduate Build Engineer In this position I am responsible for building, troubleshooting and maintaining standalone Data Centers for HPE.Responsibilities include:• Racking, cabling and building stand-alone Data Centers • Configuration of network devices such as: APC UPS, Cisco 3750 series switches and routers, McAfee IPS, Riverbed Steelhead, Bluecoat Packeteer PacketShaper, Meinberg NTP device• Building out physical ESXi hosts and both physical and virtual servers• Snapshot recovery procedures. • Daily monitoring of the networks through the use of various event management applications and troubleshooting any issues that arise from the day-to-day running of the Data Centers.

This job helped my knowledge of technology and also helped my customer based skills. The store had to do well as a team and individual so I had responsibilities of achieving my own personal targets and the stores. I would say I have learnt a lot about myself through this job showing I have a good understanding of sales and team work. Knowing that customer service is always important and to do your best for the customer. I still have a great relationship with my manager and I am now trying to pursue a career using my degree in IT.

Being a lifeguard at a busy holiday park I had many responsibilities such has being the first to react to any situations that happen within the pool area and keeping alert at all times to be called on when something happens. I was first aid for the park and had to deal with different injures and access them and ask for help from colleagues when needed. This job has helped my decision making as I often would have to react to things immediately.
