Software Lead – High Capacity Digital Radio (HCDR): HCDR provides IPv4 network backbone for the UK military BOWMAN program. Worked with Systems Engineering, the customer and the development team members to identify critical systems issues, created a development plan, and worked with the team to resolve issues. Debugged the Systems Engineering’s simulation model of the radio network (OPNET). I wrote the Linux device drivers for the products USB based front panel, and its INFOSEC module in addition to fixing bugs in the system’s neighbor discovery and network formation. Optimized the system to reduce the packet throughput latency from 1670ms to ~30ms using RMA and other techniques allowing the product to transmit and receive at the maximum rate its RF media would allow. Worked closely with RF, DSP and Black Waveform groups to instrument and re-architect interfaces that prevented the program’s goal of a 240 HCDR node network. Fixed networking issues in RIP and OSPF, intermittent process crashes, and logistic and supportability issues. Organized the transition of the product and its technologies to the United Kingdom at the end of the program.Senior Systems Engineer, Developer/Fire Fighter – Embedded GPS Receiver (EGRs): Addressed exceeded timing requirements for Time to First Fix (TTFF) and Time to Subsequent Fix (TTSF). Had the opportunity to learn GPS technology, worked with the software development team to resolve errors, and re-implement satellite tracking loop. Reverse engineered entire system and wrote a Software Design Document.

Member of a team that implemented a proprietary financial derivative trading application: Parimutuel Derivative Call Auction (PDCA). Implementing PDCA system on distributed LINUX servers in (Object Oriented) PERL using Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM) packages, mod_perl, apache, open-ssl, Mason, C, XML.
