Robert C. Kloosterman is Professor of Economic Geography and Planning at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. His work focuses on how the social, economic and cultural transitions of advanced urban economies that gathered pace after 1980 have affected cities and why different outcomes have emerged. He is the lead partner of the international CICERONE research project (Creative Industries Cultural Economy Production Networks) which is funded under the EU Horizon 2020 framework and which comprises nine partners in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom. CICERONE is an interdisciplinary international research project.
