As a versatile Mechanical Design Engineer, I bring experience in designing and developing a wide range of mechanical systems and components. My journey from academia to a dynamic startup environment has equipped me with a robust skill set in innovative design, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.At Four Nine Design, I led the design and implementation of a cryostat for NIST and managed the largest thermal link order in company history for the Einstein Gravitational Wave Telescope project. I reduced circuit board costs by 70% through sourcing pre-assembled components. I designed a cryogenic electromechanical shutter switch for laser ablation and assisted in the R&D of a Helmholtz superconducting magnet. My role also involved the creation of end-user instruction manuals and I handled all 3D printing needs.As a Graduate Research Assistant at Montana State University, I designed and built a custom mobile treadmill for gait rehabilitation training. This involved developing hardware and software solutions to manage all treadmill functions, including specialized system controls and an intuitive UI. My work on this project was published in the ASME Journal for Medical Devices: "Design, Fabrication, and Validation of a Portable Perturbation Treadmill for Balance Recovery Research." Through this process, I honed my skills in integrated software design, prototype fabrication techniques, and medical device design.In addition to my research work, I served as Chief Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Mechanical Engineering Capstone program, managing a team of 7 GTAs responsible for over 250 undergraduate students. As a result of my efforts design quality improved and there was a significant drop in project failure rates.Earlier, I worked as a Mechanical Engineer in Training at Harvey's Plumbing and Heating, where I designed duct, sanitary sewer, and hydronic systems. At ROC Wheels, I contributed to designing innovative wheelchairs for children in developing countries, managing volunteer activities, drafting U.S. Patents, and optimizing product and assembly flow.I am proficient in software packages such as SolidWorks, Revit, and MATLAB, as well as programming languages including C++ and Python.
