This position is primarily responsible for providing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.

- Designing and proposing control improvement projects to safeguard against financial risks.- Implementing new reporting requirements, accounting standards and policies.- Cordinating all general ledger reconciliations and ensuring corrective measures are taken.- Managing the Financial Control Assessment and key financial controls and review process for finance function for the region.- Managing treasury back office functions.- Reviewing and signing-off tax returns.- Participating in budget and performance analysis.- Coordinating internal and external audits and ensuring that the issues raised are corrected.- Coordinating Quarterly review of authority schedule.- Approving bank payments online and through manual cheques.

- Preparation of annual budget and control all expenditures.- Ensure sound inventory and labour management.- Prepare financial reports for the Plant and forward to Head office. - Ensure availability of funds at the Plant for efficient running of operations.- Process suppliers’ payments and ensure company adheres to agreed payment terms.- Ensure credit control procedures are adhered to at the company and overdue debts are followed up.- Ensure effective internal controls are in place to avoid loss of company’s assets.- Follow up on implementation of internal audit recommendations.

- Finance management at the factory level and ensure maximum utilization of the resources and adherence to the budget provision.- Advising the management and the board of directors on all financial matters- Ensuring preparation of factory workers payroll and that all statutory deductions are remitted to the relevant authorities within stipulated time frame.- Maintenance of safe custody of all accountable documents which include cheque books, receipt books, LPO books, logbooks and a signatory of all factory bank accounts.- Supervising the writing of all primary books of accounts, which include cashbooks, stock records, monthly cost analysis and preparation of monthly bank reconciliations.- Ensuring safe custody of office imprest and supervision of all cash collections and organization for banking.- Authorization of expenditure.- Submitting financial data to Head office as per approved procedures- Ensuring preparation of financial statements.- Ensuring accurate costing of products at the factory company- Ensuring proper control of the stores materials/items as per approved procedures- Ensuring proper maintenance of accounting control systems in the factory company- Signatory to the Local Purchase Order (LPO) involved in the procurement of goods and services and a member of the factory tender board committee- Preparing annual budget and implementation in consultation with the Board, Factory management and Head Office.- Ensuring accuracy of growers data and payments to tea growers- Liase with tax department on all issues of statutory Taxes
