Contract part time, preparation and entry of data into the Environmental Protection Agency sponsered Portfolio Manager, Energy Star progam. This program begins energy benchmarking buildings of various types, and provides an energy rating. The benchmarking benefit is used by building owners to track their buildings energy performance especially after improvements have been made to the facility. The Energy Star score can be used if high enough to gain points for a LEED certification. (Leeders in Energy Efficiency and Design).

Providing a wide variety of energy saving solutions to customers ranging from residential to mostly industrial and commercial, including hospital, campuses, and K12. Performing meaningful Infrared imaging, real time measurements, data collection and reporting. ASHRAE LEVEL ll audits. Worked with the Cobo Hall Renovation Team examing the entire envelope in infrared to establish R-Values. As part of the Minig Scientific R&D team provided measurements for a patent pending product utilizing recylcled material.

Initially worked in the Advanced Materials Group. Producing, providing, evaluating, electrical optical measurements of thin films for superconducting material and photovoltaics. Interfaced with a modern structures lab interpreting results from EDS, X-ray and SEM. Worked on a number of Microwave CVD projects from coating the inside of small diameter tubes to a patented large area high rate deposition applicator for solar cell development.Worked within the Machine Division performing depositions for oxygen barrier thin films on polyester, to low e coatings on glass. Most influentially, worked on developing a diagnostic system for inline optical, electrical measurements in a production machine that saved the company millions of dollars/year.

Performed residential energy audits representing Consumers Power, Chicago Edison and New York State Gas and Electric. Became certified november 1981. Total residential audits 3,800.
