I am a Senior Scientist and Director of the Energy Storage and Distributed Resources Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. I contribute to LBNL scientific, programmatic and strategic leadership in Energy and Environment areas through expanding existing research programs, assistance with development and maintenance of sponsor and partner relationships, and creating new research initiatives. My research in the field of electrochemical science and engineering focuses on bridging the gap between fundamental science and applications of significant technological importance e.g., electrochemical energy storage and conversion devices and desalination systems. I co-authored >120 papers in refereed journals, 15 conference proceedings papers, 250 meeting invited presentations and 15 patents. I have been an active member/officer of the Electrochemical Society and the International Society of Electrochemistry for >20 years, organized and co-chaired numerous symposia, workshops and government-university-industry research roundtable meetings.
