With an education in engineering, my career began in lighting fixture design, both the mechanical construction and photometric performance. I have been a product manager for both standard products and custom designs and hold patents for unique design applications. I have been a member of the IES, NEMRA, IALD-LIRC and have given many presentations to these groups over the years. I am thus instrumental in providing expertise in proper fixture construction and installation practices in all phases of the process. I understand the challenging factory / agency relationship, and the complexities involved. Over my career I have had responsibility for maintaining and enhancing these relationships with agencies in most of the North American territories. This combination of experience gives me a unique perspective on the lighting industry and allows me to see the market from many different viewpoints…a global view if you will. Being technically trained while being focused on design has given me broad and enduring respect the specification community. Due to my level of experience, lighting agencies have also realized that there is value in being trained and understand my ability to call on their most important specifiers as worthwhile and profitable.
