In October 2021, I began my new position as Senior Planner with the City of Peoria.

In June of 2014, I accepted a position at the City of Surprise as a Planner II in the Community Development Department. I was subsequently promoted to Current Planning Supervisor in January of 2018.

I began my career with Maricopa County in 1999 as a Plan Reviewer II. About a year later, I took a position as a Planner then promoted to Senior Planner in 2005. For the roughly three years preceding my departure, I served as the Program Manager responsible for the development and management of the Utility-Scale Solar Energy Program. Several utility-scale solar generating facilities were in the pipeline, with six such facilities having been completed and collectively producing over 600 megawatts of clean, renewable energy.

For a brief time prior to taking a position with Maricopa County, I worked for Richmond American Homes as both an Assistant Construction Superintendent and as an Assistant Development Coordinator. This experience, coupled with a pragmatic undergrad education, gave me insight into land development from the private sector perspective.

Prior to attending ASU for the first time, I served as a wildland firefighter. I began the year that Yellowstone burned and quickly gained substantial firefighting experience, promoting twice in the next two years, ultimately achieveing Interagency Fire Crew Representative and Fire Crew Supervisor qualifications. During off seasons, I led field crews in various projects including a $2 million fisheries habitat improvement project. I gained substantial leadership and supervisory experience together with a working understanding of wildland-urban interface issues. This, together with my Fire Science degree also gives me insight into site design from a firefighter's persepctive.
