I grew up on a farm near Galloway, Ohio. I graduated from Grove City HS in 1957. I was drafted into the Army in January 1962, went through basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. and then to Military Police training at Ft. Gordon, GA. I was then assigned to the 385th MP Battalion in Kornwestheim, Germany. After the Army I married Catherine Shaner, in 1964, and continued to farm about 500 acres. June of 1970 I was hired as a firefighter with the Prairie Township Fire Dept., Franklin County, Ohio and still continued farming. I retired from the Prairie Township Fire Dept. as Fire Chief in 1995. I sold my farm machinery and our household furnishings in 1996 and moved to Henderson/Las Vegas, NV. I worked at the Henderson Post Office for a couple years before going to the Paris Hotel/ Casino in security as a life safety operator. When I left there I went back to retirement and am now enjoying my family and grandchildren.
