Mine Director - Projects
CurrentDeveloping and Commissioning one of the biggest undeveloped copper deposits in the world (estimated and probable ore reserves at 1,428 million tons). Mining by open pit using remote controlled excavators, Autonomous haul trucks and Autonomous Drills. The plant is designed to process 70 million tonnes of ore per year and produce about 1.5 million tonnes a year of copper sulphide concentrate with a copper content of 24% and approximately 13,000 tonnes year of molybdenum concentrate. The mine has a life of approximately 40 years. Copper and gold grades for the entire life of the mine are estimated at 0.47% and 0.27g/t, respectively. The overall volume of investments in the project is estimated at US$9 billion.
