I promote Networking to businesses that appreciate obtaining quality connections!I'm in the “you never know” business. That means that we must always be on the look-out for a qualified connection. A vetted connection that cares as much about us as we do about them. I instruct people to ask good questions and discover the ways to make a new or existing connection stronger. People pay me for, and I add value to, their own process, by training them exactly how to identify, maximize, refine and nurture their contacts.I coach executives how to network. Most executives don’t talk to their employees for fear of saying something they shouldn’t. So where do they network and with whom? Do they have a list of their own trusted colleagues that they can speak to? Usually, but not in-depth. I teach them how to find those colleagues in their network. Usually, vetted contacts like these are hiding in plain sight. We're inventing a new way to build stronger customer relationships by simplifying the executive networking process.I educate salespeople how to network. Most of the time, salespeople have quotas to make, it’s very transactional. I teach people to look beyond the sale, leave their egos at the door and “farm” their contacts rather than “hunt” them.So…is business networking an active or passive activity for you? Is it on a daily or weekly or monthly basis? This is a clear distinction of “you get out of it what you put into it.” Stop trying to “sell" someone and rather, see if there is a common synergy between the two of you. And how do you find that? Connect effectively, meet with them efficiently, determine if they are a “keeper” or not…then nurture them to be your hero and introduce them to other contacts of yours.
