Was brought on board to introduce hardware and software best practices to a pre-existing, highly successful innovation team in Kitchener-Waterloo. An equally important portion of my role, was being an innovation evangelist across all CTC organizations.Major Accomplishments:----------------------------------Converted an abandoned coffee shop in Kitchener-Waterloo into the ‘Canadian Tire Digital Garage’ , a software and hardware ‘Internet of Things’ ( IOT ) center of excellence.-Designed the space to reflect the optimal work environment required for the various tasks in an innovation lab ( coding, designing, making ).-Staffed the lab with a diverse group of millennials, coops, and 30 somethings to get a broad range of skills, experience and perspectives.-Equipped the lab with all the necessary tools to produce production quality IOT prototypes.-Completed over 20 POC's in first 8 months of operation at Garage using a variation on the 'Lean Startup' methodology, all with engineering best practices.-All of the above managed without a net increase in headcount or budget.
