As part of the requirements to completion of B.Sc. Retail and Services Management, I completed a Management Trainee Program with Dixons Retail Ireland at their Pc World Store located in Carrickmines on the Southside of Dublin. I gained great experience in customer service and staff management. The experience involved critically analysing sales data to further increase sales across the store. When the store underwent a refurbishment, the responsibility of being team leader was an amazing time to obtain insights into the merchandising and spatial planning of the business along with the skills involved in deligating responsibilities for each member of my team. Upon completion of the trainee management program I continued to work as a store expert for the Carrickmines store during my studies. My role was to oversee the running of the store and deal with customer issues on a daily basis. As of May 2013, I was appointed as Assistant Manager and I am currently located in our Liffey Valley Store. Since my time here, the store has become one of the top performing store out of 14 branches located in the Dublin area. Through the role of assistant manager I have gained great experience in customer service, store standards,visual merchandising, promotion implementation, logistical planning, people management and development, KPI performance measures and reviews and time management.

I work as a checkout staff member. I have also worked on the shop floor, fruit and veg, delicatessen, bakery and butchers. I gain good experience with dealing with the general public and developed my communication skills. I have also had the opportunity to work on tasks of an important nature to the company. These tasks range from order placing to dealing with matters that arise with inventory and suppliers. I have experience in customer service. I was further promoted to checkout supervisor. I oversaw the checkout staff and make sure end of day counts are correct and processed correctly. It was also my duty to deal with any customer issues brought to my attention.
