I work a as a data scientist where I manage, analyze, and verify data for gas and electric utilities operating around the United States. This includes work with advanced metering Infrastructure (AMI) data to identify opportunities to reduce electric demand and thus additional investment in the power grid by service providers. In an effort to better understand the way that individuals and businesses use energy I do a fare amount of backend analysis of survey data. Much of the modeling work I do is in SAS with data that is stored in a SQL data warehouse however R is becoming increasing important in my day to day tasks.
