The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the management of all financial activities of the hospital while also assuming the leadership responsibility and ultimate oversight for all fiscal services that involve the business and administrative functions of the hospital. The CFO works with the CEO and Governing Board to make financial recommendations and decisions that yield positive outcomes in accordance to the hospital’s mission, vision and values. Major Duties:Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with strategic plan. Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports; Monthly profit and loss forecast (vs. budget); cash flow forecast. Oversee cash, investment, and asset management. Oversee the Business Office and Health Information Departments to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function; supervise materials management staff. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions. Complete the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements.

Responsible for assisting in the monthly financial statement close process, preparation of the annual Medicare Cost Report, annual budget development, and other internal/external reporting. Preparing and reporting in-depth Financial Analysis to support decisions and assist department managers and other leaders in the analysis of actual vs. budget variances.Responsibilities:Responsible for reconciling General Ledger accountsPerform in-depth analysis of revenue and expenses.Assist in the preparation of information to distribute for the annual Financial Statement review, income tax return, Medicare Cost report, and other internal & external users.Assist in the information gathering and manages the Medicare cost report process with the external firm that prepares the annual Medicare Cost report.Assist in the information gathering and prepares information for the Medicare Wage Index and Medicare Occupational Mix Survey.Assist in gathering statistical information to build a database for issuing reports to users.Assist in the budgeting process, sending information files to department supervisors, tracking the process, uploading the returned files to the master budget file. Resolving any variances between the detail file and the top-line budget with the CFO and the respective department supervisors.Manages the budget information process with the department supervisors, sending out detailed information files, answering questions dealing with variances between actual and budget.Other accounting / financial tasks

Financial Analyst encompassing monthly census, income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and Foundation scholarship statements as well as all budget and mid-year review financial assumptions and calculations.
