Robert Laus graduated in 1989 having completed a four-year Physiotherapy degree in The Hague, Holland and was a senior partner in Private Practice before coming to London.Over the past 28 years, Robert has established clinics in premier health clubs and large occupational health departments, and co-founded Waterside Physiotherapy. He specialises in ultrasound imaging, complex sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation and muscle/biomechanical imbalance.He is one of the pioneers of using MSK ultrasound into sports medicine clinic and one of the most experienced physiotherapists using diagnostic ultrasound imaging within sports and orthopaedic rehabilitation in Europe. Robert was trained in musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging by world leading musculoskeletal radiologists specialising in this field and has, since 1996, fully integrated it within his clinics; combining his expertise in sports medicine with ultrasound imaging, developing the concept of POCUS. Robert is regularly invited to lecture on Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Imaging in Sports Medicine. In 2005 developed and taught his own MSKUS courses for sports medicine clinicians. This grew into SMUG (Sports Medicine Ultrasound Group) which he co-founded, providing MSKUS ultrasound training courses for Sports Physicians, Sports Physiotherapists, Sonographers and Orthopaedic Specialists both nationally and internationally, from beginner to advanced level.
