Sr Rotating Equipment Engineer
Within the project team for SK320 Pegaga Integrated Central Processing Platform with Mubadala Petroleum (MP) for the SK320 Pegaga project which is the design and fabrication of a 13k MT integrated CPP under a secondment from Shell, due for start-up end-2021. Fabrication is ongoing at Lumut, Perak and the project is around 70% completion. Pegaga is to be located offshore Bintulu, Sarawak and the main rotating machinery to be installed include Siemens gas turbine generators, gas turbine compressors, seawater cooling related pumps, firewater pumps and other process-critical rotating machinery. Responsibilities include Detailed Design and Fabrication execution and support, procurement, design reviews, optimization and testing of rotating equipment and static mechanical packages. Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer (Rmad Team & For Materials Management Project)
Leading the RMAD (Remote Monitoring and Diagnostics) team for proactive and condition based monitoring for all Sarawak Shell assets since April 2018. This is primarily monitoring and troubleshooting all of our offshore main gas turbine compressor sets. Utilizing remote onshore tools like Shell Smartconnect, System1, VEWS, plant DCS and crucially the gas turbine TCPs. This is a major part of Shell’s Proactive Technical Monitoring initiative that was rolled out in 2017. Immediate successes so far include prevention of major start-up trips due to insufficient value multiplications for gearbox axial displacements for offshore's F23 K-2400 gas turbine compressors.For the MM Reset Project in-charged of the rotating equipment portion of the overall Sarawak Shell Berhad offshore facilities spare parts management and re-optimization, under the Operations Readiness team. Work includes the identification, verification, and repopulation of Sarawak asset’s rotating equipment spares and inventory for all critical services. The project includes management of excess spares, purchase of safety and production critical spares, reviews of existing SAP database and BOM creation, set-up of vendor PAs and GFAs etc. This project aims to re-instate the foundation of Materials Management (MM) to minimize operational deviations, production deferment, procurement costs, inventory costs and reduce Non-Cost-Recoverable risks in the near term. It also aims to enable the continuous improvement of the end-to-end processes of Logistics, Maintenance & MM (LMMM) in the longer term - for sustained and improved business performance outcomes. Target is a saving of 11.4 mil USD within the next four years.

Diesel Generator – 1 x 100% diesel engine generator.• Air comp and utility pumps• RAM analysis and optimization. EOR Centre team, for the Bokor Phase 3 EOR project, for offshore Miri. I joined this project design office at the start of FEED in July 2011 and have now completed FEED. The next milestone would be to get funding for detailed design and procurement. This project is an oil EOR project utilizing the iWAG principle which includes water and gas injection facilities, encompassing a mother platform (CPP) and seven satellite producer and injector platforms. This project is then linked to an existing facility for the production of both oil and gas. Enhanced Oil Recovery is relatively new in Malaysia so valuable experience has been gained on equipment selection and configurations that will match reservoir recovery profiles, fracturing risks and souring cases. Sr Rotating Equipment Engineer
My Shell work prior to the above secondment included technical preparations and analyses, design reviews, equipment selection and site support (like RCFA) for all our client locations, dealing in turbo and reciprocating compressors, pumps and gas turbines. I have also been actively involved in Shell gas compressor standardization work and Shell development releases like GE’s PGT25+G4 and LMS100 gas turbines.
