Created new applications to address both federal and state regulatory requirements. On the federal level, created a brand new application for reporting ACA 1094/1095C forms. The framework created for ACA was expanded to include other federal reporting requirements including W2 and 1099. Solution developed was part of a stand alone desktop application written in C# using Winforms, that could be updated automatically when new versions were made available via an internet connection. At the state level, created a standardized set of tools to accommodate reporting to state retirement systems, including WA DRS, NV PERS, NY PERS and more. The tools created for state retirement reporting were also written in C#. Proprietary screens that were part of ONESolution were created, along with utilities and reports written in C# for reports and file submissions.

Continued to support clients using ONESolution also known as IFAS 7.9 in the early years of this time period, by fixing software faults, and creating new features to the software. Worked on a variety of self serve web portals written in Microsoft's latest ASP.NET technologies of the time. Designed and developed a smart client application for Time Keepers in WPF called Time and Attendance. In the early 2000's, wrote a web portal utilizing Microsoft's earliest versions of ASP.NET (1.1) technologies, to create a CRM system to track client data and help desk calls. The system was called ISC which was short for Internet Support Center. Notably, this home grown CRM system, was used internally and externally by the company for nearly 10 years, till it was replaced by an enterprise CRM suite offered by Microsoft.

As Director of Quality Assurance, I was initially charged with building a brand new Quality Assurance team of software testers within Bi-Tech Software Inc. Starting with only a couple of testers, the new team eventually grew into a group of 8 QA specialists that were responsible for reviewing software changes company wide. The team focused on formalizing procedures for testing software changes individual unit tests as well as comprehensive regression tests for end to end testing of critical paths of the software offering.

As HFS Coordinator, I was tasked with both the creation of company wide software updates to the ERP software package that was called IFAS at the time and the scripts and processes required to accomplish the installation of the updates selected. The software components being installed at the time were made up of mostly cobol and supporting files, that needed to be moved into their proper directories on a wide range of mini-computers including HP3000, IBM RS6000, Data General boxes, and Sun Micro Systems mini-computers and compiled natively. Complicating the scripting of the installation packages were the disparate operating systems (MPE and Unix), the various proprietary unix scripting languages (AIX, DGUX, SunOS, etc), and variety of target database engines (Turbo Image, Informix and Oracle).

I started working in the software industry, fresh out of Chico State, with nearly a master's degree in Computer Science, working for a start up that was already 10 years old, but still finding its footing called Bi-Tech Software Inc. I started my work at Bi-Tech as a Programmer/Analyst. Frustrated by the way the software was being updated at customer sites and subsequent incidents that were created by faults in the installation process, I helped develop and deploy a set of installation and configuration scripts, tools and processes that were eventually called HFS (Hassle Free Support), that installers and clients could use to ease the pain related to receiving software updates. Upon completion of the tools, I was promoted to HFS Coordinator where I became responsible for not only the delivery and installation of software updates, but also the contents of them.
