JTAC-I/E employed to manage and identify training opportunities for the British Army's TACPs and JTACs.Support the UK JAGIC as an Interdiction Controller working within the Divisional HQ.

Having served as a Fire Support Team 2ic and a UK Forward Air Controller (JTAC) as part of an FST on operations in Afghanistan. I am now 617 TACP 2ic and SuPFAC, one of 3 SuPFACs/Air SME's within my formation. Responsible for training the REGT/BDE FACs of 3 RHA and 7 Armd Bde (The Desert Rats) in preparation for upcomming operations in Afghanistan. Taking them from initial JFACTSU certification and helping them individually learn and develop the skills required to become certified-qualified(CQ) and then mission-ready (MR) for deployment.It's also my responsibility to safely integrate all aspects of joint fires from the land/air and to manage the air battle space in a complex operating environment in support of a brigade maneuver/mobility group during deployment.

Whilst still being employed as an FST 2ic I was trained as a UK FAC (JTAC). Once trained and awarded the status of combat ready after follow on training deployed to Afghanistan. Attached to A Coy, 5 Scots as part of 1 Royal Irish BG, 16 Air Assault Bde conducting COIN operations to stabilize Nad 'e' Ali in preparation for transition to afghan forces control. Was responsible for providing both rotary and fixed wing close air support (CAS) to a Coy of 120+ UK soldiers and their partnered ANCOP/ANA/ANP counterparts. Over 4 main separate platoon locations and numerous small section check-points within their allocated AOR. Also responsible for use of layered armed/unarmed ISTAR to track/target known insurgents to build the intelligence picture in a complicated, congested and heavily contested battle space.

Second in command for a fire support team, within the specialist reconnaissance battery of 3 RHA. Tasked with providing direct support to 7 armoured brigade's formation reconnaissance regiment with the use of land based and air fires. Responsible for the integration of land and air fires to safely provide timely support to small reconnaissance units when required.
