Was able to successfully manage the group remotely, as most staff is working from home or other countries during COVID.Mentored several Emirati Nationals to support their development and success in the nuclear industry. Guided them in learning engineering and supply chain processes and facilitated their involvement with industry groups and suppliers. Oversaw their development to ensure that they obtained their industry qualifications. Lead efforts to localize the supply chain and develop suppliers in the UAE.Managed a cross functional team to perform a risk and operating experience based analysis of spare parts to be stocked in inventory.

I managed a team of up to 20 engineers at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant. Barakah is a four unit APR-1400 new construction project in the UAE. Nawah Energy is a new company established to be the operator of the Barakah plants. I was responsible for development of the Nuclear Procurement Engineering department, including hiring all staff, developing all processes and procedures, and training and qualification.

Supervise 17 engineers and 6 material analysts to provide support to 8 nuclear units at 5 locations across the US. Responsible for developing and standardizing work practices across the fleet in order to maximize efficiencies in supporting online and outage work. Procurement Engineering ensures that the necessary technical and quality requirements are invoked for material purchases to support plant maintenance.Successfully integrated 5 separate engineering groups into one centralized engineering organization. This involved standardizing work practices across the fleet, increasing worker efficiency to eliminate long standing backlogs, improving performance metrics, and instilling accountability within the organization.Requested by Senior Management to provide support to other groups in the department to improve processes and production. Within one month, processes were improved and production was doubled.Revised service contracts for high volume suppliers to incorporate the quality requirements into the base contract and eliminate engineering review of each release, saving 240 man hours per year.Created 79 pre-engineered solutions for common material. This standardizes requirements and reduces processing time. This saves 870 man hours per year.Led efforts which resulted in over $6 million in cost savings by eliminating unnecessary material purchases, evaluating alternate lower cost material options, and developing solutions for obsolete parts.
