As a Graduate Community Director at Residential Learning and University Housing, I lead a dynamic team of undergraduate Community Assistants to foster an inclusive, sustainable, and engaging residential experience for over 1,400 students. Drawing from my background in Environmental Science and my ongoing Master’s studies in Urban and Regional Planning, I integrate principles of sustainability, urban development, and community planning into my work to create a living environment that promotes both personal and environmental well-being.My responsibilities include overseeing staff development through regular feedback sessions and ensuring alignment with institutional goals. I implement residential curriculum initiatives aimed at enhancing student learning, engagement, and personal growth, while focusing on sustainable living practices and community resilience.In addition to these leadership tasks, I handle resident inquiries, mediate conflicts, and coordinate co-curricular programs that build community and encourage sustainable behaviors. I serve as a campus hearing officer for disciplinary cases, ensuring adherence to university policies, and act as a mandatory reporter for incidents of misconduct or abuse.

Managed and coordinated the testing, organization, and distribution of room, apartment, and mailbox keys for over 6,200 beds, ensuring accuracy and security. Prepared and arranged residence hall rooms for student move-ins, optimizing space and readiness for incoming residents. Monitored and followed up on work orders within residence halls, ensuring timely maintenance and a clean, safe living environment for new and returning students. Conducted final room inspections following housing preparation by student staff, ensuring compliance with quality standards before resident arrivals. Assisted in the delivery and installation of new furniture and products in residence halls, ensuring proper setup and organization for student use.

In this role, I served as a mentor and resource for residents, providing support, addressing conflicts, and encouraging academic and personal growth. As a Research Intern, I gained hands-on research and field experience in Roatan's marine environments. I conducted site visits to study the ecosystems of seagrass habitats, mangrove communities, and patch reefs, and both high and low-energy coral reef systems.Collaborating with visiting faculty, local staff, and experts, I contributed to research efforts aimed at understanding these vital ecosystems. I assisted in data collection, species identification, and habitat assessments, as well as the study of regrowth techniques for specific types of coral, enhancing my understanding of marine biodiversity and the complex relationships within reef systems.
