For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed simply being immersed in the natural world whether at a nature reserve or watching the birds in my garden. I am looking to build on my previous work and voluntary experience and contribute to promoting sustainability, biodiversity and responsible tourism. I have previous volunteering experience in conservation and permaculture particularly with the South Downs rangers and a local community garden project, engaging with volunteers from different backgrounds. During my degree I have had the opportunity to increase my skill set and step out of my comfort zone on various field trips including to Pembrokeshire (geology) and Portugal (marine/freshwater ecology). My sandwich placement with the Field Studies Council at Dale Fort, Pembrokeshire was a great experience and insight into environmental education. Although this was also cut short by covid, I gained experience in delivery of fieldwork and activities to school and university groups. Eventually I aspire to work for a conservation focused organisation with all the skills and experience I have gained.
