Duties and achievements have included:• Reception - checking in guests, taking, and finalising bookings, responding to enquiries, and ensuring the hostel was secure.• Catering - cafe and group meals food preparation and cleaning.• Housekeeping - cleaning and preparation of rooms and bathroom facilities.• Completion of induction and first aid training.• At one hostel I was able to influence the behaviour of guests and locals who were placing food waste into the recycling skip meaning it would not be emptied. This involved improved signage and daily monitoring.

Duties and achievements included:• Fieldwork - supporting student tutors and groups with equipment preparation and planning.• Admin - office duty to cover weekends. • Compliance - maintaining stocks of first aid, electrical testing, utilities usage.• Biodiversity - survey monitoring (reptiles, sightings of wildlife, moth traps) data entry.• Evening duty - ensuring all students were on site and being on call for emergencies or issues overnight.• After completion of a grant application for biodiversity funding my bid was successful and the centre was able to buy more bat boxes for monitoring.
