The fellowship is designed for current graduate students interested in careers in publichealth law or policy. Fellows are matched with host sites at state, local, tribal, or territorialhealth departments, CDC, or other public health law organizations that support work in thepublic health law and policy fields.

- Collaborate with a team of teaching assistants and Dr. Carrie Henning-Smith toteach Principles of Health Policy.- Grade and provide extensive feedback to student assignments through virtual andin-person meetings.

In my time with an Essentia Health Operations Director, I collaborated and strategized to implement and update Emergency Preparedness materials for training and implantation across Wisconsin facilities. I also attended and documented daily leadership meetings regarding the operation, strategy, and quality improvement of care locations. Projects in this experience including a presentation to the clinic and hospital leaders for exam and office space utilization and strategic recommendations; quantitative data compiling and interview conducting for the sense of belonging metrics; and nurse committee assignments.

Compiled related research on PPACA studies relating to community benefit expenses in non-profit healthcare centers and hospitals and then collected, analyzed, and presented data from over 100 Minnesota hospitals to conclude state-wide community benefit expense saved from income tax exemption.

Through being a peer mentor for UMD's first-year seminar, I assist in educating a class of 20-30 students on campus resources, teamwork skills, and interpersonal relationship skills; provide mentorship to students as they transition into college life; present weekly ‘tips of the day’ that answer questions and provide advice as students adjust to college life; and work effectively alongside the course professor to provide feedback and further develop lesson plans.

Have the honor and privilege to work beside three professionals with great insight into their respective fields and have been able to perform monthly reconciliation reports for four departments and ninety accounts, while maintaining a tracking system; organize and maintain two filing systems with confidential financial records and procedures; execute key audit and maintain records for all keys in the building; and carry out a variety of clerical duties, including; copying, filing, data entry, file termination, and office place cleaning.

Through working with experts in conduct violations and conflict resolution and mediation I have been able to gain the experience of creating case files in database management system with awareness of student privacy laws; answer emails and phone calls to provide basic information of office procedures for faculty, students, and staff; perform background checks in an accurate and timely manner; completing transcriptions of recorded interviews, requiring strong listening skills and attention to detail; and carrying out duties with high level of confidentiality with regards to student records and information

Wrote new non-profit organization employee handbook, business plan, strategic plan, and marketing campaign plan; Advised and collaborated with executive leadership on business functions along with communication with board of directors; and Collectively completed financial and strategic forecasting and analysis, utilizing data collection and analysis

Managed and maintained the Sales and Events department’s staff, inventory, ordering, budgeting, and operation.Marketed to a client base of over one hundred individuals with seventy-two returning contracts.Communicated with three months of events contacts to coordinate event, through email, phone calls, and in-person meetings.Worked with customers as server, bartender, and host to provide professional level customer service and dining experience.Filled in as supervisor in varying departments, providing leadership for staff to complete duties effectively and efficiently.

Assisted in clerical and other administrative duties to promote more than fifty-five local businesses.Published marketing materials for local events including: The Spring Gala, Grandma’s Marathon Volunteer Party, Annual Golf Outing, networking luncheons, Breakfast with Heroes.Promoted local business through social media through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and email blasts (utilizing Mailchimp).
