• Robert Loader graduated from Liverpool University in 1986, and worked for several prominent London architects before starting his own practice in 1994. • His primary interest is with research and the practice of building in historic contexts. Robert’s architectural work concentrates on the adaption of historic buildings to new activities and contexts. These interventions have been at both urban and micro scales: they range from the regeneration of social housing estates to the renovation of Victorian public realm infrastructure.• After finishing his architectural training in Liverpool, Robert completed an MSc in the History of Modern Architecture at University College, London, and he continues research into twentieth century building technology.• Accredited by the RIBA as a conservation architect (CA).• Chair of the Working Party for Docomomo UK.• Co-Chair for the International Specialist Technology Committee of Docomomo.• As a school governor he has advised on the procurement of architectural and building services.
