As an instructor, I taught a variety of courses in ITT Technical Institute's Information Technology department. My duties included the development of lesson plans, the development of homework & lab assignments, lecturing, conducting labs, and administrative functions. I was the sole instructor for all courses I taught. In 2008 I aided my students in founding a student chapter of ACM at the Knoxville ITT Tech campus. As a research assistant working under Dr. Vandana Singh of the School of Information Systems, I was responsible for maintaining the website http://oss-research.com. In addition to performing the duties of webmaster, I have also engaged in creation of surveys, collection of data, and co-authorship of papers relating to Dr. Singh's research project. The overall goal of the project I participated in is a comparative study of Open Source Integrated Library Systems and Proprietary Integrated Library Systems.

I worked with Dr. John Toman on a part time basis to create and maintain several ASP.NET applications. My primary duty was to create and maintain an Agronomics application which is used to publish soybean yield data to the general public. As senior developer for Five Iron technologies I was responsible for the creation and maintenance of both in-house software and custom client development. I also developed the irongate system which is currently deployed as the chief router and mail gateway at multiple businesses. I served as the lead developer for Mediapulse Inc. My duties included the development of custom back end applications for websites as well as the development of “Ideal Platform” which is now the company's flagship product. My duties included the analysis, design, development, and implementation of core software systems. Notable projects included the development of a system that consolidated customer relationship management with the company's stock advising algorithms. This system selected stocks based on statistical data and served as the basis for JC Reed's stock trading activities. I also assisted in the due diligence process for selecting the mortgage system used by JC Reed's mortgage lending business. My final project began the development of a mortgage work flow system in C# which integrated with a third party mortgage underwriting application. My duties included the planning and development of data mining and web applications. Most of these applications focused on government document processing, especially registrar of deeds data. Two notable projects that I served as sole author of were titlesearcher.com and efile. Titlesearcher.com allows title attorneys (and others) to search deeds in any of the counties served by BIS. Titlesearcher uses a MySQL database to index the nearly 6 terabytes of available deed images. Efile is a system that allows deeds to be filed, paid for, and approved electronically. Both systems operate in near real time, and also serve as a backup for their respective registrar clients. I also assumed a leadership role, leading the development of several other web based systems with a team of programmers working under me.
