Responsible for developing the leadership team, improving automation coverage, furthering adoption of Agile methodologies, and reducing product defects through strategic changes in process and priorities.

Managed a small focused team that covered project management and administration for a development organization of around 800 people. Managed training/employee development functions, web presence, procurement processes, etc. Introduced Agile to Allscripts, and working with large cross-functional teams developed and executed deployment plans taking into consideration existing process confusion, development projects in flight, training and consulting needs, physical factors etc.

Worked on strategic projects across the IT group to drive up customer satisfaction, created 24-hour help desk to cover our growing company around the clock, trained all staff in ITILv3 practices at SVP request, transferred control of daily operations, and project management functions to new leadership. Drove a number of efforts to improve overall organization of our extensive project backlog, and ensure that progress and reporting continuity was protected during political turmoil occuring at the time.

Led a mid-sized enterprise IT shop covering all aspects of infrastructure and operations. Responsible for strategic initiatives, operational improvements, team development, enterprise applications, communications and data infrastructure, internal business relationships (service delivery and improvement purposes), vendor relationships, budget and finance (including improving financial and business literacy among my teams), change control, regulatory compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPPA etc.) and quarterly corporate governance.

Directly managed all day to day operations, technology projects, and staff. Worked to develop new managers, improve efficiency of our project management and support efforts, increase consistency and performance of of our teams and our systems, and drive accountability and integrity across our department.

Managed teams of engineers across the help desk, network and server teams. These teams covered all of the infrastructure and support needs for around 2000 people. I was also high level technical support for the teams as my background was cross-discipline with a continual focus on engineering and technical proficiency.

Managed all the staff on the network and desktop services teams. Drove improvements in both, improving customer satisfaction, enacted policy and procedural tweaks to bring the teams from "small shop" mentality to a better managed and more efficient mindset. Introduced ticketing systems to track requests and improve organization, instituted development of knowledge articles, many self help features, and began improving our compliance posture so that upcoming regulatory requirements could realistically be met.

Managed all LAN/WAN infrastructure including an extensive network of IPVPN circuits, remote access PPTP and IPSEC VPNs, DNS infrastructure, DHCP infrastructure, all Checkpoint perimeter firewalls under a central management system, LAN/WAN monitoring suites (HP Openview, and Vitalnet + Solarwinds and other tools) including producing monthly reports for management. Managed to 99.999% uptime with virtually no budget, and one associate network engineer to help.Deployed our company's first managed wireless networks, and eventually worked hands on during conversion of the enterprise to MPLS circuits before moving up to higher level management.Still served as 3rd tier support for desktop and server techs.

Maintained all local switches, including support and deployment of new capacity as needed. Traveled to customer sites to deploy network systems sold. Administered all perimeter Checkpoint firewalls, and deployed self-contained DNS infrastructure for the enterprise before active directory was even available.

Deployed, supported and repaired desktop and laptop computer systems, including physical repairs on site of failed systems, development of computer images for consistency in deployment, and advanced troubleshooting assistance for my peers. Began learning and supporting network systems as well, including conversion to/deployment of layer 3 aware ethernet switches (with new VLANs) from unmanaged hubs and unsupported cisco routers.
