Robert Ma’s global role at MMoser Associates includes leading the firms Sustainability Initiative and in the capacity of the US-China Liaison.As leader of the Sustainability Initiative he advises clients on sustainable design strategies for architectural interiors projects, including regulations and compliance, carbon offset approaches, and energy efficient engineering. He is highly regarded as a practice leader in sustainable design and currently developing company-wide knowledge and professional development for MMoser. As the US-China Liaison at MMoser, Mr. Ma provides valuable perspective and knowledge to US based clients and executives on the building practice in China, including local practices in design/construction regulations, government permitting and costing strategies.In previous positions at MMoser Mr. Ma has served as Director, Head of Office for MMoser Shanghai office and established and led MMoser’s New York office. Prior to joining MMoser Associates, Mr. Ma was part of major architectural firms in New York. He was in the capacity of Design Director for a broad range of international and US based projects and his work received recognition and published in the NY Times, Architectural Record, Interiors and Progressive Architecture.Mr. Ma has been invited as a guest critic to architectural design reviews including forums at Columbia University, Ohio State University, Pratt Institute, Syracuse University, and his alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania.He is a member of the US Green Building Council and serves on the Committee for the Environment at the AIA and the Sustainability Committee at Corenet.
