Provided maintenance and problem resolution, as well as needs analysis, planning, design and installation of network hardware, software and related infrastructure systems such as cabling, routers and switches. Duties included contract management with outside technical vendors, documentation utilizing MS Word and MS Visio as well as procurement of hardware, software and services. Prepared briefings and cost/benefit analysis of proposed system upgrades for management. Prepared and presented ROI briefings on proposed procurement of new hardware, software and network services. This included expansion of the LAN and the inclusion of redundant PIX firewalls to establish a DMZ, the installation of load balancing switches and routers as well as additional servers into the existing network. Project lead for the procurement and installation of new LAN equipment and provisioning of redundant WAN connections (fibre and failover T-1s) from multiple vendors using diverse routing as part of the COOP effort. Project lead for architecting and implementation of network security including implementation of network compartmentation using VLANS, the establishment of multiple firewall zones and the installation of an intrusion detection system (IDS).
