United Arab Emirates

Seconded to a WS Atkins team as the Track and Alignment Manager responsible for the track and alignment design and documentation for stages 2 and 3 of this freight and passenger railway for the UAE. Concept and preliminary engineering design have been provided for all rail tracks, depots, stations, transfer stations and terminals. Earthworks have been generated for the preliminary design stage. Track and alignment design for alterations to stage 1, and answering of tender design questions. Total length of track formation approx. 265 km for stage 1 and 640 km for stage 2 and 560 km for stage 3. The designs incorporated many freight terminals (bulk materials and container), marshalling yards, Border transfer station, passenger stations, and a major depot at Mussafah.
