Supervise 21 fire department represented employees and administer San Onofre Firefighters’ Association (SOFA-246A) contract agreement; supervise 16 Fire Protection Specialist personnel; implement the Fire Protection (FP) Program regulatory requirements; manage transient combustible requests (TCRs); maintain and implement pre-fire plans and the FP impairment process; establish and maintain compensatory measures for impaired FP systems and components; perform routine FP surveillances and preventative maintenance activities; conduct fire drills some of which are integrated with offsite fire departments; assign procedure work and other duties to shift personnel; maintain fire department log; prepare and distribute morning report; ensure all firefighters are trained and maintaining current qualifications; serve as incident commander on drills and emergencies; ensure procedural work compliance is strictly adhered to and fire department Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG’s) are followed; Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG’s) and fire department protocol development; procedural review and confirmation of orders in SAP; maintain and foster a safe work environment for shift personnel; accurately analyze information and make sound decisions during emergencies and non-emergencies; initiate mutual aid protocols while maintaining minimum staffing; responsible for shift personnel performance and behavior; create and maintain a safety conscious work environment; New hire firefighter training supervisor/captain; supervise and development of Relief Captain’s.
