I work with issues of depression, anxiety, trauma, family issues and grief. I have experience with clients struggling to overcome past traumas. I use a holistic approach and also trained in the use of EMDR and Neurofeedback therapy, which are proven effective for the treatment of trauma and other health issues. Other than helping clients, I am also a EMDRIA approved consultant, providing feedback on the consultee's work and their abilities to implement standard EDMR therapy. I was first introduced to EMDR therapy when I was practicing at the outpatient clinic of St. Mary’s Hospital and had a chance to train in EMDR. As part of the training, I received EMDR myself. Having gone through some traumatic experiences growing up, getting divorced and losing my mother, EMDR helped me surface and process these experiences, mentally and physically, in a way that talk therapy had not. My unique approach begins with the focus of increasing my client's knowledge of the mind and brain. Given that our brains are built to change in response to experience, there is a new optimism regarding the brain's ability to remain flexible and to benefit from enriching environments throughout life.
